Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN bids farewell
JAKARTA, 14 July 2016 – Ambassador Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, called on H.E. Le Luong Minh, Secretary-General of ASEAN, on 12 July to bid farewell as he is finishing his term in Jakarta on 14 July.
SG Minh thanked Ambassador Hasnudin for his dedication, contribution and hard work since he assumed the post of the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN in 2012. He also commended Ambassador Hasnudin’s able stewardship and leadership in 2015 which resulted in many notable achievements by the ASEAN Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR). He further congratulated Malaysia’s successful chairmanship of ASEAN in 2015 which culminated in the establishment of the ASEAN Community. SG Minh also thanked Ambassador Hasnudin and the Government of Malaysia for their continued support and assistance to the ASEAN Secretariat, in particular in strengthening the secretariat.
Ambassador Hasnudin and SG Minh also exchanged views on ASEAN’s external relations and challenges facing the region.
SG Minh expressed his best wishes to Ambassador Hasnudin in his future endeavours and hoped that he would continue promoting the work of ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat in his next assignment.
